Professional ethics

The professional ethics refers to the conduct with which a person takes the reins of his working life. It is a set of rules or regulations that determine whether what you are about to do is good or bad in your career or craft.

Although this type of ethics also responds to a certain extent to each individual’s own morality, it really has more to do with actions seen as good or bad within their profession. That is, those good or bad work practices that differentiate someone ethical from someone unethical with their colleagues, for example.

Differences with «ethics»

Ethics is a kind of reflection that questions morality or not. It is the rational part that determines whether or not to follow the moral rules imposed by society or even those that have been assumed by their own beliefs or habits .

Both concepts refer, in essence, to the same thing. However, in professional ethics certain behaviors are allowed because within that profession it is allowed to behave in a certain way.

A person who is passionate about their work will also want to be ethical, as this will bring them good reputations and relationships.

Perhaps some ethical practice within the work field of a certain career or trade is seen as unethical outside of this field, but that does not mean that people are being malicious.
