Examples of Artistic Drawing and Technical Drawing

A technical drawing requires scales, it represents something, a building, a machine, a piece of furniture, a garden, etc. It is governed by strict rules because it represents something to scale.

An artistic drawing can be abstract, it can be constructivist, it can be realistic, sub-realistic. Whatever you want it to be.

For example:

1) If you draw a vase with shadows and applying realism, it will be an artistic drawing . 2) If you draw the same vase, but in projection (horizontal and vertical), it will be a technical drawing . Other examples of technical drawing

: the plan of a city (horizontal projection), the cut of an Egyptian pyramid (vertical projection).
