10 Examples of Feelings

Since we are born we adopt different forms of expression, either to reflect annoyance, pain, anguish or happiness . They are examples of feelings that accompany us daily.

Now, we define feelings as the state of mind that a person adopts because of the emotions that reach the brain.

In this sense, they should not only be seen from a romantic or metaphorical area but also understand that they come from inside the body, specifically, from neurons.

Motivation, happiness, fear: Examples of feelings in everyday life

1. Fear 

When our brain perceives a situation of risk or danger, an alarm signal is generated, which we know as fear.

It is considered a feeling when the individual always has some kind of fear , for example, the fear of snakes.

2. Motivation

If the person constantly knows that he can achieve a goal, with effort and dedication, without giving up.

This becomes customary when we begin to see that we are capable of achieving what we set out to do, with perseverance. 

This is when the feeling of motivation and hope arises.

3. Happiness

Happiness is a feeling that denotes joy , gratitude, empathy and love for everything that surrounds us, giving way to rewarding moments. 

It arises when we achieve our goals, we help others and we always walk with a positive attitude 

4. Love

It is about showing affection to people, animals, ourselves and even the things we do. 

Love becomes a feeling when it generates well-being and it becomes everyday to express our feelings of gratitude and affection to others.

5. Rage

The feeling of rage or anger is one that arises from the discomfort and annoyance of a situation that violates our integrity.

Whether we feel offended, mocked, or threatened. Before this, the organism responds with crying or a bad face.

6. Sadness

When we feel weak, low self-esteem , negative thoughts and general discomfort on an emotional level, we are experiencing the feeling of sadness .

In general, this happens when we lose a loved one, due to the breakdown of a love relationship, deception or betrayal, among other negative situations.

This permanent attitude makes sadness a feeling.

7. Stress 

When, due to accelerated situations, we spend our days and sometimes even our entire lives in a hurry, pressured, worried about what might happen.

8. Feeling frustrated 

When not reaching a goal or seeing that things did not go as expected, some people allow themselves to be overwhelmed by examples of feelings such as frustration .

This can be accompanied by sadness and anger and if the person is not prepared to face a defeat or an unexpected result, they will live frustrated a lifetime.

9. Gratitude

Also considered within moral values , it is a feeling that is worked at home from an early age and consists of giving thanks.

Give thanks for the good and the bad, because from everything there is learning, experience and guidance on how to do things correctly.

10. Have fun

This is one of the kindest feelings that exist, not only do they help people to coexist and relate to each other, but they also inspire well-being.

Fun has to do with spending pleasant, healthy moments of sharing.

Positives and negatives 

There are two types of feelings 

to. Positive feelings

When they generate tranquility and inner peace in those who perceive them, creating an internal satisfaction that translates into happiness, joy, hope, among others.

The importance of positive feelings is that they allow you to maintain a stable emotional health, avoiding moments of anger, stress or sadness.

b. Negative feelings

Quite the opposite of the above! 

They are those that cause discomfort in the individual, for example, anger, frustration, guilt, among others.

Of course, although everything indicates that these can be harmful, they help the human being to get rid of the bad, to know himself better and overcome them. 

Benefits of feelings

To those who wonder , what are feelings for? Positive or negative, they give a perspective of our inner self. 

This means that:

They are a reflection of the values

All feelings reflect the values instilled in the home, serving as a guide for the person to know how to act. 

They help intrapersonal communication 

Feelings allow us to express how we feel or what we need without speaking, being like a kind of scanner to ask for help. 

Likewise, they help to understand the bad times that another person may be going through, which we know as being empathetic.

Emotions and feelings, are they the same? 

They are not the same, the main difference between emotions and feelings is that: 

  • Emotion is the first reaction we take when perceiving a situation, however, it is momentary.
  • Whereas, all examples of feelings arise from constant emotions, so they are permanent, for life.
